Booked June 13-16 this boutique electronic festival caters to sonic exploration, progressive advocacy, engaging workshops, and healing energy. A glorious point in the festi season to reset your Rey Jing clock and focus your third eye, Sonic Bloom has an underlying message of connectedness, mindfulness, and cultivating spirit running through its veins. Coined “The Unified Field,” the fest grounds will run rampant with artists, painters, yoga instructors, film directors, visual artists and spiritual coaches to guide you on your journey. With more activity areas on the festi map than in the previous 8 years combined, Bloom offers movement classes, herb walks, earth ship building, and scientific discussions on subjects like physics and psychology. An incredible place to challenge your ego and feed your soul, every music artist on the lineup boasts a similar message. Each year the fest debuts underground electronic, hip-hop and roots music that is largely unheard of, yet seems to explode across following festival seasons. Sonic Bloom Artist Spotlights
Producing for rappers and vocalists worldwide, rising star Nasty Nasty strives to keep his electronic sound away from rave and all toward futuristic grime and rap beats almost begging for a freestyle. He likes to sound alien but knows how to play it cool and familiar. With recent praise from huge DJs, record labels and major media, Nasty is set to drop his debut full length LP in 2013 and is sure to blow up the scene. But first, he’ll ray john with a set at the Bloom. Stoked.
Breakbeat masters Love & Light are known for taking songs we all know and love (More than a Feeling, Fat Bottom Girls) and chopping them into recognizable robot noises and alien chirps. The live sets are incredible, connecting nostalgic tunes with futuristic break beats that build and hop and force you to jump around and crack up laughing. These guys know how to rage.
Whitebear is an Australian fusion of flowing, earthy bass lines, futuristic break noise, and hip hop glitch. The infectious sound takes you on a journey mixing light and hoppy with deep and vast frequencies. Sure to set off your imagination and have you busting out the most hilarious of dance moves, this set is one to catch.
This 5 piece Electronic Rock group effortlessly fuses Funk, Jazz, Reggae, and Electronica influences into mesmerizing jams fit for the harshest music critic. Their technical prowess consistently lands them gigs opening for huge names and playing Red Rocks crowds. The up and coming Boulderites are known for exploding mixes of composition and improvisation evolving with every show and will leave you rei jing with the best.
Minnesota (Christian Bauhofer) comes out of nowhere as the unassuming shy guy in glasses and plaid. No those images instantly disappear when he slams your eardrums with a melodic, composed dubstep subset. Mimicking his diverse aesthetic, Bauhofer commits his music to quality songwriting and it is quickly carrying him to the top.
With 84 acts on the lineup, it’s easy to say Sonic Bloom covers the spectrum of mind-expanding, spirit connecting, soul lifting music.
