Just because summer is all but over doesn’t mean festy season is and there’s a very good first year festival taking place on the outskirts of Columbus, OH. Resonance Music & Arts Festival will occur at Frontier Ranch in Pataskala, OH from October 2nd – 4th.
The lineup is truly something to behold. The collection of artists are enough to drool over and it starts with two nights of Papadosio. The young jamtronica stallions continue to steamroll their way to the top of the livetronic universe with shows that leave jaws dropped all across the country. Next on the bill are the equally as trailblazing (just in a different genre) Greensky Bluegrass. The perfect mix of rock and bluegrass is the formula for success that is positioning them to be a bluegrass heavyweight for years and years to come. Nahko & Medicine For The People will bring their tribal sounding alternative and their message of equality and self-sustenance to Pataskala for a performance that will surely move people both physically and spiritually. Rounding out the top 4 of the lineup is probably the hottest jamtronica band in the country, Dopapod. Theirs is a path much like that of Papadosio circa 2 years ago where every performance is catching people’s attention and every time they return to a city the crowd is significantly bigger from the last time they played there. Expect a fast and furious performance from Dopapod and don’t be surprised if it’s one of the most talked about performances of the weekend.
This lineup is far from just top heavy though. The entire lineup is stacked from top to bottom with nationwide names and lower tier acts that are known throughout the midwest. The bigger electronic names include Eskmo, Phutureprimitive, Bluetech, Random Rab, Desert Dwellers, Kaminanda, The Human Experience and EarthCry (Anthony from Papadosio). The local producers include Carma, Heady Ruxpin and Alejo. The bands that will be present are no slouches either. Consider The Source, Twiddle (2 nights), The Mantras (2 nights), Ultraviolet Hippopotamus (2 nights), The Main Squeeze (3 nights), Tauk, Jahman Brahman (3 nights), Aqueous, Benchwood Wyse (3 nights), Indigo Sun, Peridoni, Sassafraz, Elementree Livity Project, Glostik Willy and Naive Natives will all look to put on hot performances in the midst of the midwest fall.
If the lineup and word of mouth from Paradise (Resonance’s sister festival) are any indication then Resonance is going to be an event that you will not want to miss. With exactly 2 weeks to go it’s time to start to preparing for 3 days of great music, fun and love. Tickets will be $130 at the gate and you can find all other information, including set times, at Resonance’s official website.
